Michael Elephant was just like all the other little Elephants. But one day, something different happened. Michael got sick . . .
An emotionally honest look at childhood illness, the story of Michael Elephant will be a comfort to kids and families coping with hospitalization and the big feelings it can entail. A special message to parents is also included.

Author
Kathleen O’Halloran Blake
Kathleen O'Halloran Blake had a busy household with four children. She's now a proud grandmother with five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Story-telling was always a part of her life. Creating a story to help her four-year-old son Michael deal with the sad and scary feelings when hospitalized, helped him understand he was not at fault and even helped him find fun and humor in the hospital.
She received a BA in Social Work from the College of St. Catherine, served children grades K-12 as a School Interventionist, children of chemically dependent parents, and chemically dependent women and was a faith-based community organizer addressing the post-treatment systemic barriers the women faced.
